Cookies Policy

1. What this page covers
This page explains how cookies and similar storage technologies are used on the Fleetlix marketing website (fleetlix.com). It complements our Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences, and (less benignly) to track people across sites for advertising. Under UK law — the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), as supplemented by UK GDPR — non-essential cookies require your consent. Strictly necessary cookies, used to deliver a service you have asked for, do not.
3. Cookies used on this website
Fleetlix sets no first-party cookies on this marketing site. We do not use analytics, marketing, advertising, or behavioural-tracking cookies of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no advertising network, and no third-party widget, chat box, or social embed that loads on its own.
The single exception is the walkthrough video, which is fetched from Supabase Storage only if you press play. It is covered in section 4 below.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for site security and bot management when their protection services are active:

4. The walkthrough video
One file on this website is served from another address: the product walkthrough video on our walkthrough page. It is a plain video file stored in Supabase Storage, which is the same infrastructure provider that runs the Fleetlix application. It is played by your browser's own built-in video player — there is no third-party video service, no embedded player, and no third-party JavaScript running on the page.
Nothing is requested until you press play. Until you do, the page shows a still image served from this website, and your browser does not contact Supabase at all — nothing is sent, nothing is stored, and no cookie is set. This is a deliberate design choice, not a side effect: pressing play is how you consent to loading it.
If you press play, your browser requests the video file. At that point Supabase receives your IP address and browser information, as an unavoidable part of sending you a file, and its content delivery network (Cloudflare) sets one strictly-necessary bot-management cookie, __cf_bm, on the supabase.co domain. That cookie protects the file from automated abuse, lasts 30 minutes, and is not used for advertising or to track you across websites. No profile is built, and we receive nothing that identifies you personally. Supabase's privacy practices are set out at supabase.com/privacy.
If you would rather not load it at all, simply don't press play — the chapter list on that page describes what the video covers section by section, and everything else on the site works without it.
5. Why we don't show a cookie banner
UK law (PECR) only requires consent for cookies and similar storage that are not strictly necessary. This site uses no analytics, no marketing or advertising cookies, and no other non-essential storage, so in normal use there is nothing to ask consent for.
The walkthrough video described above is the one case where another party could set anything on your device — and it is built so that pressing play is the consent. Nothing loads until you make that choice, which is exactly what a banner would otherwise be asking you. We think an explicit play button is clearer than a pop-up, and it means visitors who never watch the video are never asked about it. The cookie that is then set is strictly necessary for delivering the file, which is the category UK law does not require consent for in any case.
If that changes — for example, if we add product analytics, or any embed that loads without being clicked — we will introduce a proper consent mechanism and update this page before anything is set.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working as intended — for example, you may be repeatedly shown a security challenge. Instructions for the major browsers:
